Tottenham Hotspur will not give up on Milan Skriniar

According to La Repubblica (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur are unwilling to give up on Milan Skriniar.

The Slovakian has established himself as one of the top defenders in Italy during his time with Inter. His future has come into question after he was dropped by manager Antonio Conte towards the end of last season. (h/t Football.london)

While Spurs are keen to secure the 25-year-old, they are at odds with Inter regarding the player’s value. The Italians want £45m for the Slovakian international, but Spurs are willing to offer just £32m plus add-ons. (h/t Football.london)

This has seen the deal reach an impasse. Inter are not keen to sell the player anymore but Spurs for their part have not thrown in the towel yet.

Spurs have a spot open in their defence following the exit of Jan Vertonghen earlier this summer. While Skriniar is not the only defender on our radar, he appears to be the preferred choice.

Chelsea outcast Antonio Rudiger and Juventus star Merih Demiral are also being looked at as alternatives for the Slovakian.

Tottenham have already brought in six major signings so far this summer. The likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon, Gareth Bale (loan), and Carlos Vinicius all add different qualities to the Tottenham squad.

It remains to be seen if Skriniar will join that list.

Adding Skriniar would cap off what has been a window of dreams for Spurs. Jose Mourinho now has both quality and strength in depth to mount a challenge for the top four, potentially even for the title.

While the club has delivered off the pitch, time will tell how we do on it, especially after the 6-1 thrashing of Manchester United earlier today.
