Harry Redknapp backs Tottenham to win the Premier League title

Speaking to Sky Sports, as reported by Reuters, former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has claimed that the club can be in with a chance to win the Premier League this season.

Following a defeat on the opening day of the campaign, Tottenham have been on a rampant run in all competitions, winning each of their fixtures. Prior to the international break, Jose Mourinho & co. humiliated Manchester United in their own backyard, thrashing them 6-1.

“I think they’ll make top four … they could even win the league this year. Look at the strength in depth. They could be scary. Tottenham are a danger to anyone in that division this year.”

Heading into the campaign, the lack of depth in certain key areas had been the main concern for Spurs. However, Mourinho and Daniel Levy have taken concrete steps towards addressing that, while increasing the overall quality of the squad.

In Carlos Vinicius, Tottenham now have a dangerous forward to cover for Harry Kane, who has started the season in brilliant form along with Son Heung-min. Matt Doherty and Sergio Reguilon add quality to the full-back slots while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has addressed the desperate need of a proper defensive midfielder.

Throw in the form that Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele have shown early in the campaign, one gets the feeling that Mourinho is building something special at the club. After having finished sixth last time, it would hardly be a surprise if Tottenham were pushing for the top spots this term.
