Tottenham Hotspur could offer Cameron Carter-Vickers in a bid to sign Joe Rodon
According to The Sun (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur could offer Cameron Carter-Vickers in an attempt to sign Joe Rodon from Swansea City.
While the European window may have shut, the English domestic window permits clubs to do business with lower league teams until October 16.
Spurs failed to land either Milan Skriniar or Antonio Rudiger on deadline day. With those avenues closed, for now, the club has turned their attention to the Championship. (h/t Football.london)
Rodon came through the ranks at Swansea. The 22-year-old centre-back broke into the senior team in 2018 and has since has become a regular at the heart of the Swans’ rearguard.
According to the report, Swansea are seeking £18m for the player’s services. It was reported earlier that Spurs are only willing to pay only £7m.
Tottenham are now seeking to use Carter-Vickers as a makeweight in any future bid. The Swans will be familiar with the American international who spent the 2018-19 season on loan at the Liberty Stadium. He made 33 appearances for the Swans that campaign.
The 22-year-old Spurs defender has been at the club since 2009. He has made just four appearances for our senior side and has predominantly spent his time out on loan.
Carter-Vickers played a key part as Luton Town staved off relegation last season. He is not short of suitors either with a number of clubs vying for his signature.
The youngster is not part of Jose Mourinho’s plans and has already been informed to find a new club by the North London outfit. (h/t Herts Live)
