Eric Dier’s injury could push Tottenham Hotspur to sign Joe Rodon

According to The Express, an injury to Eric Dier could force Tottenham Hotspur to push for Swansea City star Joe Rodon.

The Spurs star missed England’s clash against Denmark with an injury. He is now a doubt for our clash against West Ham United at the weekend.

Bringing in a striker was a priority for Tottenham this summer. The club, however, failed to land both Milan Skriniar and Antonio Rudiger before the window shut earlier this month.

Having lost Jan Vertonghen at the end of last season, there is a void in the Spurs defence that needs to be filled. Now with Dier also possibly out, bringing in a defender is imperative.

With the domestic window set to close tomorrow, we will need to get a move on if we are serious about landing Rodon. The 22-year-old was in fine form as Wales defeated Bulgaria in their Nations League clash yesterday.

According to the report, Tottenham has been in talks with Swansea over a £15m move for Wales international this week.

Extensive talks have been held in recent days for the Wales international. Spurs have proposed multiple ways of agreeing on a deal. This includes a cash bid, a player-plus-cash move, or a deal that would include a loan move back to the Liberty Stadium.

However, given our current predicament, it is safe to assume that the option to loan the player back is off the table. Rodon has just two years left on his Swansea contract.
