Tottenham Hotspur fans react as Juan Foyth impresses on Villareal debut
It proved to be a memorable night for Tottenham Hotspur loanee Juan Foyth. The Argentine international shone during his debut for Spanish side Villarreal.
The 22-year-old scored a goal and grabbed an assist as the Yellow Submarines won 5-3 against Sivasspor in their Europa League fixture.
With the game tied at 2-2, Foyth headed in a corner to give his side the lead just before the hour mark. He was, however, far from done as he helped Paco Alcacer extend the side’s lead later on.
The 22-year-old moved to North London from Estudiantes in 2017. But he has failed to make a major impact and has made just 32 appearances in all competitions. Injuries have not helped matters for the Argentine international, who has not featured since last December.
The loan to Villareal has given him not just a chance to play regularly but also rebuild his reputation. It would appear that he is off to a good start. We take a look at how fans reacted to the news on Twitter.

I’m so glad Jose & Levy only sent Foyth out on loan bcs I really believe he could be a top player at CB or even as a DM

Some game for him. Goal, assist, yellow card, they conceded 3 at home, but scored 5 and won…
Glad he’s getting some game time – let’s hope he matures into the player we think he can be.— Sanj (@hod_almighty) October 22, 2020
Should have gone on loan years ago to develop. He’ll be a much better player for it

Juan Foyth will be exciting to follow in Villarreal, very solid debut tonight. Had his struggles at Tottenham but also spells of a promising defender who’s smooth on the ball. Under the right circumstances I can see him blossom.
