Joe Hart opens up on Tottenham Hotspur transfer
Speaking to BBC, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Joe Hart has opened up on why he joined the club this summer.
The former Manchester City star is currently the understudy to club captain Hugo Lloris in goal. He displaced Argentine shot-stopper Paulo Gazzaniga, who was the second choice last season.
A free agent in the summer, Hart could have moved to a club where he would have found game time easy to come by. However, he decided to pen a two-year deal with Spurs after talking to manager Jose Mourinho.
Speaking on the move, Hart revealed that his thoughts aligned with that of the Portuguese tactician regarding the club.
“After working out what Jose wanted from his squad and what he thought I could bring to it, it matched what I thought.”
The Englishman is not keen to just make up the numbers. He is ready to step in when needed and has so far done well. In his own words, he is here to make the team better.
“I haven’t come to shake it up. I have come to make Tottenham better.”
Hart was also full of praise for Mourinho. The Spurs boss is often someone who divides opinion depending on one’s vantage point. Hart believes Mourinho takes part in an even exchange of trust. While he admits that he isn’t the best keeper in the world, it will not reflect in the effort made on the pitch.
“Trust works both ways. He definitely gives that and I enjoy working with him.”

Just two points off the top of the table, Tottenham are in the conversation for a title push. Such a situation will not be new for Hart, who has won the competition twice at Manchester City.
He believes Tottenham are going in the right direction with Mourinho at the helm. Hopefully, it will reflect on the pitch more in the coming months.
