Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-Min changes representatives amidst contract negotiations
According to the Associated Press (h/t Daily Mail), Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-Min has changed his agent amidst contract negotiations with the club.
The South Korean ace has three years to go on his current deal at the club. Spurs are however keen to tie him down to a new deal.
It is understandable given his importance to the team. Son has been in spectacular form this season and has formed a formidable duo with Harry Kane.
According to the report, Son has joined American sports agency CAA, specifically CAA Base. The same agency is responsible for Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho’s commercial deals.
Having one of their star players being represented by the same agents as the manager will come as a huge boost to Tottenham’s hopes of tying Son down to a new deal.
Apart from the duo, CAA also represents Tottenham and England midfielder, Dele Alli. Other high-profile names on their roster include Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Everton ace James Rodriguez.
Mourinho revealed last week that he is convinced Son will sign a new contract at the club. The 27-year-old will improve his current £150,000-a-week deal.
While his future at the club is secure, tying him down will be a show of intent by the club. An in-form Son is amongst the best attackers in the league. He will play a key role as the club looks to build a team in Mourinho’s image.
