Tottenham Hotspur star Tanguy Ndombele ready to leave behind Jose Mourinho friction
According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur star Tanguy Ndombele appears to have moved on from his disagreement with Jose Mourinho last season.
The club’s record signing, Ndombele got off to an excellent start at Spurs last season. Having scored on his debut, hopes were high for the Frenchman. Unfortunately, that was the zenith as he went on to suffer from both a loss of form and fitness.
Not one for subtle words, Mourinho was critical of Ndombele’s fitness and motivation on a number of occasions.
The relationship between the duo appears to be on the mend now. Ndombele admitted that both of them are now prepared to let bygones be bygones for the betterment of the team.
“The more difficult moments last season we’ve left behind us. We’re now both trying our hardest to help the team.”
According to the report, Mourinho’s frustrations stemmed from Ndombele’s lack of effort and the effect it had on his fitness. The player himself admits it’s his change of attitude that’s helped him win back his place.
“I feel like I’m really settling in better and I really hope that I’m on the right track for the future.”
Neombele also thanked teammates Moussa Sissoko and Serge Aurier for helping him settle in at the club. Having some support during a low phase is helpful and Ndombele has benefitted from just that.
The midfielder has looked a different player altogether this season. He has featured much more regularly and appears to be reaching the levels expected of him. With two goals already this season, the Frenchman has equalled his goal tally from the last campaign.
