Daniel Levy has met with the representatives of Son Heung-min over new contract
Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast (h/t Express), journalist Ian McGarry has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has gotten personally involved in talks for a new contract for star forward Son Heung-min.
The 28-year-old has easily been Tottenham’s best player this season alongside Harry Kane. And having been left hugely impressed by his performances, the club are intent on tying him down to a new long-term contract with improved wages. (h/t Express)
Now, McGarry has revealed that the chairman himself has taken a personal interest in the situation and has already met with Son’s representatives to negotiate a deal. And he further adds than an official offer will be tabled at the earliest. (h/t Express)
“Daniel Levy, met with Son’s representatives from the CAA. The deal was discussed in general. Another meeting is planned before the end of the week, and that is expected to result in a written offer to Son in order to secure his future to [the club].”
McGarry then went on to reveal the details of the contract that is set to be offered to Son. The 28-year-old will bag the same wages as club’s top earner Harry Kane if he pens the four-year extension. (h/t Express)
“He’ll be earning around £200,000 per-week – if he agrees to it obviously. A four-year contract is being offered, substantial money, Spurs fans will be extremely pleased that those negotiations are ongoing.”
