Tottenham fans vote Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg as their Player of the Month for October
According to a poll conducted by Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur fans have voted in Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg as their Player of the Month for October.
The Dane is amongst a number of players the club signed in the summer. He has settled in well at North London and is amongst the club’s key performers so far.
His physicality, athleticism and strong ability on the ball has played a key role in freeing up his teammates for attacking responsibilities. If anything Hijbjerg has been a shrewd addition to a skilled Spurs side.
The 25-year-old garnered 37.2 per cent of the total votes. This saw him comfortable beat of Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane. The former garnered 28.4 per cent of the votes while the latter managed 27.4 per cent.
Given the prolific partnership Kane and Son have had, it is a testament to Hojbjerg’s ability and performances that he has edged them out.
To put things into perspective, Spurs’ attacking duo has also been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award. Having beaten them despite that shows what a good month Hojbjerg has had.
The Dane also appears to be held in high regard by his teammates. Moussa Sissoko recently spoke of the impact Hojbjerg has had, describing him a ‘great midfield player’. (h/t Football.london)
Given the signings we have made this summer, Hojbjerg could be considered one of the lower profile additions. However if his performances on the pitch are anything to go by, we have got ourselves a bargain.
