Harry Kane believes Tottenham Hotspur are genuine title contenders
According to the Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has fired a title warning at defending champions, Liverpool.
The Spurs star is confident of the squad’s ability to sustain a challenge. He believes Jose Mourinho’s men are the real deal and are set to live up to the hype. (h/t Daily Star)
Despite a defeat on opening day, Spurs have recovered well to charge up the table. If results go our way, we could also go into the international break in the top spot.
Kane has lead from the front this season with six goals and eight assists in seven league games to date. He remains confident that Spurs are on the cusp of something special. (h/t Daily Star)
“When you look at the ability of our squad, you would definitely say that we’ve got enough to win a title.”
Last season saw Liverpool comfortably run away with the title. Jurgen Klopp’s side had the league pretty much wrapped up before the lockdown. Kane believes that will not be the case this time around. (h/t Daily Star)
“I don’t think one team’s going to run away with it – like Liverpool last year.”
The English skipper believes the race will be more open this year. Despite the promise Spurs have shown, we still have chinks to mend. A prime example of that was the late collapse to West Ham United at home. (h/t Daily Star)
It is imperative that we keep our heads and do not get carried away. As long as the team performs on the pitch, we should be in and around the top.

Tottenham is not a one-man team anymore. Kane has a number of dependable stars around him. Also in Mourinho, we have a manager who is used to winning drawn-out campaigns.
It would be amiss to dismiss us given the improvement we have shown this term. Hopefully, we can sustain it until the end of the season.
