Marcel Sabitzer is a target for Tottenham

Tottenham are interested in RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer

Sportbild via Sport Witness (h/t Football.london) reports that Tottenham are contemplating a move for Marcel Sabitzer.

The Austrian has been excellent for the Bundesliga side and helped them reach the Champions League semi-finals last season. Sabitzer has become a regular at Leipzig and has six appearances for the club this season.

The 26-year-old can play in a deeper role and has also featured on either wing, highlighting his versatility.

The report adds that Sabitzer could move away from the Bundesliga side before his contract expires in 2022. Sabitzer’s demands over a new contract are not being met by Leipzig and they could be forced to sell him with 12 months remaining on his contract (h/t Football.london).

Spurs are one of the suitors for the Austrian star, though Leipzig would want £30million for the midfielder, according to the report.

Tottenham aren’t averse to spending that amount, especially if we can shed some stars who aren’t needed (h/t Football.london).

Goodbye Alli?

Football.london adds that Dele Alli could be the one in the firing line if Spurs move for Sabitzer. The former MK Dons player hasn’t featured regularly for us and has just six appearances this season.

Alli’s form has taken a hit too and the report claims that his future at Spurs is in doubt. The Englishman could be sold to add funds for Sabitzer move (h/t Football.london) and it will be interesting to see what happens with the midfielder.

The exit's that way Dele - Mourinho forcing Alli out?
Mourinho has hardly used Alli this season

Alli was one of our top players a couple of years back but his form has drastically gone down. Injuries haven’t helped his cause and breaking into this high-flying Spurs team won’t be easy.

We sit second in the Premier League with just one loss to our name. Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are scoring goals for fun while our midfield is also clicking.

Sabitzer replacing Alli would be a great move given the players’ current form but Alli is a talented star and we could still see the best of him before the end of the campaign.
