Jerome Boateng could be a free agent and Tottenham are willing to swoop in
Tottenham are one of three Premier League clubs interested in signing Jerome Boateng, according to SportBild (h/t Metro).
The 32-year-old German has won several titles at Bayern Munich and helped them to the Champions League last season.
Boateng joined Bayern after a mixed season at Manchester City and has been with the Germans for close to a decade.
He is out of a contract at the end of the season and was expecting to extend his stay at the club. However, Bayern aren’t willing to offer him a new deal (h/t Metro).
Boateng would be a free agent come the end of this season and Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal are all keen on him, according to the report.
More experience at the back?
Boateng was able to turn his career around at Munich after his stint with City. He has loads of experience and could still do a job for a couple of years.
The report claims that Jose Mourinho is keeping an eye on his contract negotiations while Mikel Arteta is also keen on landing him.
The 32-year-old is still going strong and would be a decent addition to our team. We allowed Jan Vertonghen to leave at the start of this campaign and didn’t really replace his experience in the side.
Tottenham have still done well without Vertonghen and we sit second in the Premier League. Our attack is firing on all cylinders while our defence has also put in some stellar performances.

Boateng is a winner and could add that mentality to our team. However, he only has a couple of quality years left in him and isn’t someone who can feature in this team for a long time.
