Gareth Bale takes a dig at Real Madrid, admits to special feeling at Tottenham
As reported by Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur attacker Gareth Bale has claimed that he feels loved at the club, following his return from Real Madrid this past summer.
The 31-year-old Bale left Tottenham back in 2013 and enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at Real Madrid. However, having fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane over the past year, the Welshman went through a difficult spell in the Spanish capital before putting an end to his misery in Madrid.
Bale returned to his old stomping grounds, signing for Tottenham on a season-long loan deal. And while he has had a slow start to life back in London, he is slowly starting to get back into his groove.
Currently away on international duty with Wales, the 31-year-old admitted that it felt special being back at Tottenham, a place where he feels wanted. (h/t Football.london)
“It’s nice to be back playing, nice to be at a place where I’m wanted, I feel loved. I’m just getting my fitness back and being back playing is what makes every footballer happy.”
While expressing his happiness to be back at Tottenham, Bale also seemed to aim a dig at Zidane and Real Madrid, having been exiled towards the end of his spell at the club.
