Harry Kane described as a mix of Alan Shearer and Teddy Sheringham
As reported by the Independent, former Tottenham Hotspur striker Les Ferdinand has claimed that star forward Harry Kane is a combination of Premier League legends Alan Shearer and Teddy Sheringham.
The 27-year-old Kane has made an explosive start to the 2020/21 campaign. While he has continued to score goals in plenty, the England captain has also been displaying his playmaking abilities this season, thriving in the new role that Jose Mourinho has him playing in.
In just 14 games across all competitions, Kane has already racked up an exceptional return of 13 goals and 10 assists. His form, along with that of Son Heung-min, has led to talks of Tottenham pushing for the Premier League title this season.
And former Tottenham striker Ferdinand has waxed lyrical over the Englishman, describing his playing style as the perfect mix of two of the most iconic forwards in the Premier League – Alan Shearer and Teddy Sheringham. (h/t Independent)
“The thing I used to say about Harry is that he had the shooting power of Alan Shearer, and the guile of Teddy Sheringham, in terms of being able to drop into that hole.”

Kane’s explosive start to the season has meant he has reached a few milestones along the way already. The 27-year-old scored his 200th goal for the club in the UEFA Europa League game against Ludogorets. That was followed by his 150th Premier League goal against West Bromwich Albion.
If he is able to carry forward the same form for the rest of the season, Tottenham could very well be looking at a campaign that ends with trophies.
