Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho claims he’s now the ‘Experienced One’
Speaking to Tencent Sports, as carried by ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has revealed a new nickname for himself, dubbing himself as the ‘Experienced One’.
Having arrived at Chelsea in 2004, the charismatic Portuguese went on to call himself the ‘Special One’, a moniker that has stuck to him throughout his career.
And after a vastly successful career during which he has coached clubs like Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Manchester United before taking over at Tottenham, the Portuguese has claimed that he is the ‘Experienced One’ now. (h/t ESPN)
“The ‘Experienced One.’ I am very experienced. Basically, everything that happens to me in football now is deja vu, is something that has happened to me before. Coaching you just need your brain, an accumulation of experiences and knowledge can only make you better.”
Since taking over at Tottenham, Mourinho has done a solid job. Having led the club to a sixth-place finish last term, he has turned us into a title-challenging team this term.
Indeed, Spurs sit second in the Premier League table – a major reason for which has been the partnership of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. And the manager hailed the pair’s chemistry for their form on the pitch. (h/t ESPN)
“I think it started with the relationship that they have. They are good friends, they like to play on each other. They just want to win and to perform, there is no space for jealousy.”
