Tottenham star Harry Kane hails Jose Mourinho for his current form
As reported by the Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur Harry Kane has credited manager Jose Mourinho for his red-hot form in the ongoing season.
The 27-year-old England captain has started the 2020/21 campaign on a blistering note, scoring goals in plenty. At the same time, Kane is also showcasing his playmaking abilities, having been given the license to drop deep and create by the manager.
So far, across all competitions this term, Kane has already registered an exceptional return of 13 goals and 10 assists. His form, along with that of Son Heung-min, has led to talks of Tottenham pushing for the Premier League title this season.
Kane recently scored his 200th goal for Spurs in the win against Ludogorets in the UEFA Europa League. This was immediately followed by his 150th Premier League goal, as he fired us to a narrow win against West Bromwich Albion.
Having been in amazing form, Kane has laid the credit at Mourinho’s feet for his recent exploits on the field. (h/t Evening Standard)
“It’s been great to have him just at the training ground, on the training field. I think he saw in my game that I like to drop deep so he made it clear to the others – like Sonny, Stevie, Bale, Lamela, Lucas, all these players – that if I do drop deep then they need to be the ones running in behind.”
“I think that’s been the real difference. It’s allowed me to create space and get the ball but have an option going forward as well. Yeah, he’s been great and I look forward to obviously the months ahead and getting on really well.”
