Tottenham Hotspur fans react as the club goes top of the Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur silenced their doubters with what was an excellent tactical display against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side at home yesterday.
An early goal from Son Heung-Min got us off to the perfect start in a night that put our title credentials to the test. Giovani Lo Celso came on to impart the killing bow as Spurs won 2-0 on the night.
It is fair to say that Guardiola’s side enjoyed more of the ball and had more shots. But then holding the fort and picking off their opponents is what Jose Mourinho’s sides excel at.
While City may have attacked us, it is fair to say that the Spurs’ defence did not buckle or wither. They held their own and were largely untroubled despite the Sky Blues’ probing. Unless Leicester defeats Liverpool later today, Tottenham will finish the gameweek at the summit.
