Harry Kane the most ‘street-wise’ footballer in PL, says Jamie Carragher
Speaking on Sky Sports, as reported by the Independent, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has hailed Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane as the most ‘street-wise’ footballer in the Premier League.
Kane, of late, has drawn some ire from rival fans and some pundits for allegedly back into opposition players in aerial duels to win free-kicks and penalties. (h/t Independent)
Liverpool legend Carragher, on the contrary, has branded Kane clever and praised him for his ability to win free-kicks and penalties. (h/t Independent)
“Harry Kane is the most street-wise footballer in the Premier League by a long way, and I love it. I absolutely love it. And if anyone after this piece tells me he is cheating or going down, it’s not. It is a big part of the game and a really clever part of the game.”
The 27-year-old has made a spectacular start to the 2020/21 campaign. Kane, along with Son Heung-min, has been the driving force behind our ascent to the top of the Premier League standings.
The England captain was once again instrumental in our 2-0 triumph over Manchester City, with his playmaking abilities coming to the fore once again, as he played a key role in Son Heung-min’s opener, before setting Giovani Lo Celso up for the second. And Carragher was in full praise of the striker’s performance.
“I spoke about Harry Kane on this show a month ago about this new role and this new No 10. He made Man City’s defenders look really childish and naive, not understanding football.”
