Serge Aurier feels ‘something special’ happening at Tottenham
As reported by the Express, Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier has claimed that he feels ‘something special’ is happening at the club. However, the Ivorian has urged caution amid talks of a Premier League title challenge.
Tottenham have made a blazing start to the season, recovering in fine fashion from the opening day defeat to Everton in the league. Following the 2-0 win over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City this past weekend, we sit at the top of the Premier League table.
Son Heung-min and Harry Kane have been brilliant in the new season, while the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Tanguy Ndombele and Sergio Reguilon have all impressed. And owing to the performances of the players and our position in the table, talks of a title challenge have been doing the rounds. (h/t Express)
Aurier, though, is erring on the side of caution, insisting that it is still too early in the season to talk about the title. (h/t Express)
“The objective is to try to stay there for as long as possible. We are very happy about what is going on and our position because we deserve to be top of the table. It is too early to think about the title. We can’t rush anything.”
However, the Ivory Coast international has insisted that there is a feeling of ‘something special’ being afoot at the club and added that it was important for the squad to remain united through all highs and lows. (h/t Express)
“I can feel there is something special happening here. I am not a dreamer; I take things as they happen. We work together, we win together – one day we will lose together, but we will have to stay united.”
