Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg hailed as Tottenham’s best summer signing by Rio Ferdinand
Speaking on his YouTube channel, as reported by Football.london, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been Tottenham Hotspur’s best signing of the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old Hojbjerg joined Tottenham from rival Premier League outfit Southampton in a deal reported to be worth around £15 million. Since arriving at the club, the Danish international has quickly integrated himself into the side and become an indispensable member of the team.
And, now, Ferdinand has hailed the 25-year-old’s impact at the club, naming him as the club’s best transfer business of the summer. (h/t Football.london)
“Hojbjerg. An absolute massive signing for Jose.”
The former England international then went on to credit our manager Jose Mourinho for identifying Hojbjerg as a target and signing him. (h/t Football.london)
“You have to give him huge, huge, huge credit identifying him – he is going to come here and he is going to be the breaker, the person that sits in there, does all the nasty work, the hard jobs, stops the other teams from playing, pass it to the people like the Kanes and the Sons to go and do their bits of magic.”
Since arriving at the club, Hojbjerg has featured in all but one of our 16 games across all competitions in the new season. The Danish international has started 12 of those games, including each of our nine Premier League outings. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Tottenham had quite a successful summer window, signing the likes of Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon, Gareth Bale, Carlos Vinicius and Joe Rodon, apart from Hojbjerg.
But it would be safe to say that the Danish international has had the biggest impact of all the new faces that came in this past summer. Here’s hoping that he continues in the same vein of form for the rest of the season.
