Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho praises Dele Alli following Ludoorets win
According to Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho paid tribute to Dele Alli after the midfielder impressed in the win over Ludogorets in the Europa League.
The midfielder grabbed an assist on the night in what was a comfortable win for the team. Mourinho went on to describe the 24-year-old as a team player for his contributions in the win.
It was an excellent return to action for the Englishman making his first appearance since October 29. He was unceremoniously hauled off at half-time in the 1-0 defeat away to Royal Antwerp. If performances on the pitch and condemn you, it appears it can also redeem you.
Alli’s assist saw Carlos Vinicius break his duck for Spurs. The 24-year-old cut the ball back for the Brazilian to score again in the 34th minute when he could have shot himself.
“He could try to score but for Vinicius, it was an easy goal. A team player does that.”
The Englishman also played a part in Spurs’ fourth goal of the night. Lucas Moura scored the fourth to add gloss to what was an excellent European performance. All the gears appear to be locking together before our massive clash against Chelsea this weekend.
Alli has found himself at crossroads this season. He appears to have fallen down the pecking order and has not been played often in the Premier League. However, if he continues to impress on the field, there will be no reason for Mourinho to leave him out.
The midfielder can take heart from the fate of teammate Tanguy Ndombele. The Frenchman and Mourinho had their problems last season. However, he has played himself into contention this campaign and was monumental once again yesterday.
