Tottenham monitoring the situation of Chelsea ace Olivier Giroud
According to Football Insider, as carried by Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur have asked to be kept informed about the situation of French striker Olivier Giroud at rival club Chelsea.
The 34-year-old Giroud has been with Chelsea since January 2018 and has grown into an important squad member at Stamford Bridge, even though he is not exactly a regular starter for the Blues.
However, the arrival of Timo Werner this past summer has seen the Frenchman get pushed further down the pecking order at the club. And with the Euros coming up next year, Giroud is understood to be worried about his place in the France squad, and, as a result, is considering his future ahead of the January transfer window. And, of late, it has been claimed that Tottenham are one of the clubs that are interested in signing the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner in the winter transfer window. (h/t Football.london)
Tottenham had held discussions to sign Giroud in January earlier this year and while a move did not materialise, the club are once again eyeing a swoop for the Frenchman. In fact, as per the report, Spurs have asked to be kept in the loop over any developments over the Frenchman’s situation at Stamford Bridge. (h/t Football.london)
As things stand, we have to fit and firing strikers in Harry Kane and Carlos Vinicius, both of whom are in good form. However, given the number of injuries this season due to the packed schedule, adding another option to the centre-forward department would a shrewd move.

Giroud may have played for two of our rival clubs but is a proven Premier League striker and has that title-winning experience that could come in handy at Tottenham. However, it does seem unlikely that he would want to leave Chelsea to be third-choice at his next club as well.
