Frank Lampard believes Harry Kane is to Tottenham Hotspur what Eden Hazard was for Chelsea
According to the Mirror, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has outlined the importance of Harry Kane to Tottenham Hotspur.
The English skipper is Spurs’ ace and one of the best strikers in world football. A prolific scorer, he has also added creativity to his game this season under Jose Mourinho. In fact, his partnership with Son Heung-Min had propelled us to the summit of the Premier League.
This has seen Lampard reveal that he expects Tottenham to struggle if Kane were to ever leave us for another club. (h/t Mirror)
“To lose that, you have to try to find a way around it.”
The Blues boss is well aware of having faced a similar situation. His first summer at Chelsea coincided with the sale of star attacker Eden Hazard. While the Belgian may not have gone on to succeed at Real Madrid, he did leave a gaping hole in the Blues squad. (h/t Mirror)
Lampard believes Kane’s hypothetical departure will have a similar impact on us. (h/t Mirror)
“It’s an impact relative to the kind Harry has had with goals and assists they make for their team.”
Losing Kane would be a serious blow to our attacking setup. The 27-year-old has been our top scorer for the last seven seasons and replacing a player of that caliber will be a serious ask.
One need only look at how we have struggled in his absence over the last two years. Given his newfound skills under Mourinho, Kane’s importance to the team will only have increased. Hopefully, this is the new dawn for the club and Kane will not need to seek greener pastures elsewhere.
