Jermain Defoe hails Harry Kane and Son Heung-min as best in the world
Speaking on Mennie Talks, as relayed by the Express, former Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has hailed the partnership of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min as the best in the world currently.
Kane and Son have made a brilliant start to the 2020/21 season, with their combination play and partnership upfront being one of the key reasons behind our exceptional run of form.
Indeed, Tottenham are currently seated at the top of the Premier League table, following the 0-0 draw against Chelsea this past weekend.
While Sonny and Harry may have failed to produce any goal on the day, they have been sensational so far this term, combining for nine goal and assist link-ups in ten league games. (h/t Express)
At this point, the Tottenham duo is just four short of Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton’s record of 13 in a single season. In addition, Son and Kane have combined to score 29 goals so far in the Premier League, with only Chelsea’s legendary duo of Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba producing more (36). (h/t Express)
And, Defoe, based on the statistical evidence, has claimed that Kane and Son are the best attacking partnership in the world currently. (h/t Express)
“With Kane and Son, what Mourinho has done has been incredible. Those two are the best partnership in world football at the minute. In terms of numbers, there is no better partnership than Kane and Son.”
