Jose Mourinho delivers a message for Dele Alli ahead of January transfer window

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Europa League game against LASK (h/t Football.london), Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has delivered a message for out-of-favour star Dele Alli ahead of the January transfer window.

Alli has found himself out of Mourinho’s scheme of things more often than not this season, struggling for regular game time. This has led to speculations over his future at the club with the January window just weeks away.

And Mourinho, when quizzed if the England international will be loaned out in the winter, claimed that the midfielder needs to make the most of the minutes that he is getting and show that he is deserving of a place in the side. Mourinho added that he does not decide who to send out on loan. (h/t Football.london)

The exit's that way Dele - Mourinho forcing Alli out?
Mourinho has hardly used Alli this season

“I don’t make decisions about selling A, B or C or letting D, E or F go on loan. I am responsible for the players that belong to my squad and are working with me.

“And the ones not playing enough time in their mind, in their ambitions – they have only one thing to do. Which is to use the time they play to show me they are better than the ones that are having more minutes.”

Asked whether if his relationship with Alli was fine, Mourinho insisted that there was no problem between the pair. (h/t Football.london)

“I don’t have any problem with Dele, I don’t have any problem with any one of the players. It’s not about that.”

While Alli hasn’t been playing all that much, he did put in a fine performance in the Europa League game against Ludogorets last weekend. If he continues in the same way, it shouldn’t be long before he forces his way back into Mourinho’s plans.
