Carlo Ancelotti addresses links with Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has denied any interest in signing out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli in the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old has been pretty much frozen out of the first-team picture at Tottenham by manager Jose Mourinho. Alli has been sparingly used by the Portuguese tactician, making a rare appearance here and there.
The former MK Dons starlet has not made the matchday squad for our last six Premier League matches. Six of his eight appearances this term have come in the UEFA Europa League. However, he was used as a late substitute in the 3-3 draw against LASK earier this week. (h/t Liverpool Echo)
With the January transfer window looming large, speculations surrounding his future have been doing the rounds, with Everton being named as one of the clubs interested in securing his services. (h/t Liverpool Echo)
The Toffees’ boss, Ancelotti, though has downplayed those links, insisting that there isn’t any interest from his club in the England international. (h/t Liverpool Echo)
“No, it’s not true. It’s not true. We didn’t talk about Dele Alli. Personally I have a lot of respect for him because he is a fantastic player. But, as I say, he is a Tottenham player and I don’t like to talk about this.”

Things are certainly not looking good for Alli at the moment even though there have been some improvements in his performances in the last couple of games in Europe. With Daniel Levy reportedly open to loaning him out in January, it remains to be seen if the 24-year-old stays at the club or ends up leaving.
