Mikel Arteta learned about Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho by watching ‘All or Nothing’
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that he understood a great deal about Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho from watching ‘All or Nothing’.
His knowledge will be put to the test later tonight when Spurs take on the Gunners in the North London Derby. Tottenham will go into the game knowing a win will see them finish the week back at the top.
The same cannot be said of Arsenal who can’t even get into the top half of the table even if they were to get all three points.
Arteta is keen to gain an insight into his opposing number and took to watching All or Northing to get it. The Amazon show followed Spurs during the 2019-20 season and was released in August. (h/t Daily Mail)
The Gunners boss admits that the show revealed to him why the Portuguese has enjoyed such ming boggling success during his career. The 56-year-old has won 23 trophies in spells at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and Manchester United. (h/t Daily Mail)
“There are a lot of things you can take, and as well a manager like Mourinho that has been in many different countries, in all of them he has been successful so there is a why to that.”
Takeaways!
Arteta has found two key takeaways from the show. Firstly to create a level of engagement between players, club and fans and secondly how to navigate through difficult moments. (h/t Daily Mail)
“Mourinho has something really special, whatever he wants to get into the football club, he manages to do it and he believes players execute what he wants to do.”
Considering the series chronicled our 2019/20 campaign, Arteta will have seen the turmoil that engulfed us after the highs of the Champions League final in Madrid. We have since then steadied the ship and are now competing on all fronts in what could be a pivotal season.

Having served under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Arteta has an intimate understanding of how another great mind works. Unfortunately for him, he has been unable to translate all his learnings into success at The Emirates.
Hopefully it will be more of the same today with us securing all three points and taking top spot yet again.
