Real Madrid make contact with Tottenham target Dominik Szoboszlai

According to a report from the Express (h/t Football.london), Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has spoken on the phone with RB Salzburg’s rising star Dominik Szoboszlai, who is a target for Tottenham Hotspur.

Having started out at the Videoton academy in Hungary, the versatile midfielder signed for RB Salzburg in January 2018. And the youngster has been a huge hit in Austria already. In 79 appearances so far for the club, he has bagged 25 goals and 33 assists. He has also made twelve appearances for Hungarian national team.

Szoboszlai enjoyed a brilliant 2019/20 campaign during which he plundered 12 goals and 18 assists from 40 games in all competitions. And the 20-year-old has carried on from where he left off this term, already registering 8 goals and 9 assists in 18 games for RB Salzburg.

A versatile operator who can play on the flanks or as an attacking midfielder, Tottenham are interested in signing the 20-year-old, along with arch-rivals Arsenal. The likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also keen on securing the Hungarian international’s services. (h/t Football.london)

However, with Zidane and Real Madrid making the first move, it could be difficult now for Tottenham to convince the Hungarian international to move to London.
