Tottenham linked with Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff
According to a report from the Daily Mail, promising Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, after he joined forces with super-agent Pini Zahavi.
Having started out at the North Shields academy, Longstaff joined the Newcastle United youth setup in 2003 and grew through the ranks at the Tyneside outfit. The midfielder had loan stints away at Kilmarnock and Blackpool before eventually breaking into the first-team with the Magpies in December 2018.
Since then, Longstaff has gone on to establish himself a first-team regular at St. James’ Park, racking up 52 appearances, although a serious knee injury last year did stall his development somewhat. So far, the 23-year-old has scored four goals and registered three assists as well. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Longstaff will soon be entering the final year of his contract with Newcastle United. And, at this crucial juncture, the Englishman has switched his representatives. After his deal with Beswick Sports expired, it is being claimed that the 23-year-old has linked up with super-agent Pini Zahavi. (h/t Daily Mail)
The 77-year-old Zahavi represents some of the biggest stars in the game like Neymar and Robert Lewandowski. And, it is being claimed that Longstaff has signed a 12-month deal with the super-agent. (h/t Daily Mail)
In addition, the report also adds that Zahavi had previously told those close to Longstaff he could arrange a move to Tottenham. And, it is believed that an attempt will be made to work out a transfer if a new deal at Newcastle isn’t forthcoming.
