Tottenham could attempt to land Arkadiusz Milik in January
According to a report from Spanish publication AS (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur could make a move to sign Napoli outcast Arkadiusz Milik in the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old Milik has been with Napoli since 2016. However, having entered the final year of his contract with the club this past summer, the Poland international has been heavily linked with an exit. (h/t Liverpool Echo)
Milik had been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur all summer long, but a move never materialised. Having stayed put at the Serie A club, the former AFC Ajax frontman has been frozen out by manager Gennaro Gattuso, as the striker is yet to make a single appearance in the 2020/21 campaign.
With the 26-year-old’s situation not changing at the club, it is being claimed that Tottenham, who still remain interested in Milik, could make a move for him in the winter transfer window. (h/t Football.london)
Spurs brought in Carlos Vinicius on loan from SL Benfica this past summer. And while the Brazilian has been a positive presence in the squad, the fact that he remains on a temporary deal, with no clarity as to whether the club would make his transfer permanent, necessitates the addition of another centre-forward.
Furthermore, considering that we are pushing for the Premier League title and are alive in other competitions as well, having quality depth in each position would be vital. And bringing in someone like Milik would ensure that we are in good shape should any of our forwards befall to an injury.
