Everton could move for Dele Alli or Harry Winks in January
According to the Mirror, Everton are keeping a close watch on the situation of two Tottenham stars, Dele Alli and Harry Winks, and could make a move for one of the two in January.
It has been a difficult season for Alli and Winks, with the England duo having struggled for regular game-time under Jose Mourinho.
They have been largely used in the UEFA Europa League but are growing worried over the fact that their lack of playing time would affect their chances of making the England squad for the Euros in the summer. (h/t Mirror)
Amidst this, Everton could be able to provide an escape route either to Alli or Winks, as Carlo Ancelotti monitors their situation closely. It is claimed that the Toffees’ boss is an admirer of both the Tottenham midfielders and could sanction a loan move for one of the two players once the January window is open for business. Alli, like he did in the summer, is attracting interest from PSG once again, but a chance to stay in England with Everton could appeal to the 24-year-old. Winks, too, is claimed to be open to an exit in January either in England or abroad, but the chance to work with a coach as esteemed as Ancelotti could play a factor. (h/t Mirror)
Mourinho admitted that it was difficult for him to keep everyone in the squad happy by giving them the game time they want. (h/t Mirror)
“I can’t keep the squad happy. It’s an impossible job to keep every player happy and if you go to every club people who don’t play aren’t happy.”
