Tottenham Hotspur ready to let Dele Alli leave in January
According to a report from The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to allow Dele Alli an exit in the January transfer window out of respect for his services to the club.
The 24-year-old Alli has been with the club since 2015, having joined from lower league side MK Dons. During his time at the club, he has grown into one of the best attacking midfielders in the country.
Alli played an integral role in our rise to prominence under Mauricio Pochettino. However, the midfielder’s form has been on a steep decline over the past eighteen months or so. While there were signs of promise early in Jose Mourinho’s tenure, things have pretty much been downhill ever since.
So much so that the Portuguese tactician has pretty much frozen Alli out of the Premier League squad. Indeed, his appearance against Crystal Palace on Sunday was just his third in the league this term.
All this has led to intense speculations over his future, with the possibility of a loan move away from the club mooted ahead of the January transfer window. (h/t The Telegraph)
And, while it had been claimed earlier that the club wanted him to stay put and fight for his place, it is now being said that Tottenham are willing to let him leave out of respect for his services to the club. (h/t The Telegraph)
The report states that Tottenham would grant an exit if the right offer comes along, while a six-month is also something that the club wound entertain.
