Jose Mourinho lavishes praise on Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers
As reported by the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has claimed that he is not surprised by the progress Leicester City have made under manager Brendan Rodgers.
Rodgers took over the reins at Leicester in February 2019 and has overseen a fine turnaround at the club, establishing them as challengers for the top four. The Foxes finished fifth last time out and are sitting fourth in the ongoing season.
Rodgers and Mourinho will clash on Sunday afternoon as Leicester visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, knowing that a win would take them above us in the table. And, speaking ahead of the game, Jose, who worked with Rodgers during his first stint at Chelsea, has heaped praise on the Northern Irishman. (h/t Daily Mail)
“I’m not impressed, I know how good he is. When I met him as a young coach in the academy and coming to join us in the first team and sharing with us many moments, I understood that he was a young guy with a great future.
“So anything he’s doing in his career is not a surprise for me, not at all. He’s very talented, he was and probably still is a guy who likes to study, learn and improve. He’s creative, he knows what he wants. He’s a very good coach. Period. He’s a very good coach so it’s not a surprise for me.”

Having lost to Liverpool in midweek, it is imperative that we win against Leicester on Sunday. But, under Rodgers, they have developed into a fine outfit and will certainly make things difficult for Mourinho & co.
