Son Heung-min crowned Tottenham Fans’ Footballer of the Year
As reported by Football.london, Son Heung-min has been crowned the Tottenham Hotspur Fans’ Footballer of the Year for 2020.
It has been a memorable year for the 28-year-old South Korean international who stepped up in the absence of Harry Kane in the early parts before playing a key role in our strong end to the last season.
However, the 2020/21 season has seen Sonny take his game to a whole new level. The former Bayer Leverkusen ace has been scintillating form this term, already bagging 14 goals and 7 assists in 21 games across all competitions.
And, his performances have led to him winning the Tottenham Fans’ Footballer of the Year Award ahead of his strike partner Harry Kane, who has also been in fine form this term.
Eric Dier, who has been rejuvenated under Jose Mourinho over the course of the year came in third with Giovani Lo Celso, whose loan move was made permanent earlier this year, finishing fourth.
Son Heung-min has been with Tottenham since 2015, having arrived from Bayer Leverkusen. The 28-year-old has racked up 250 appearances for the club, scoring 99 goals and setting up 54 more. And, it could be said that he has been playing his best-ever football this season.
