Giovani Lo Celso unlikely to be risked for Stoke City clash
According to Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is unlikely to be risked for the midweek Carabao Cup clash against Stoke City.
Spurs face off against the Potters in the quarter-finals of the League Cup on Wednesday evening at the bet365 Stadium. However, it seems like Jose Mourinho may have to make do without star midfielder Lo Celso for the crunch clash.
The Argentine international has been fairly impressive this season, having bagged five goals and one assist in 19 appearances across all competitions. But, he is now unlikely to take the field on Wednesday evening due to an injury problem.
Lo Celso came off injured midway through the second half in our 2-0 defeat to Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday. And while there isn’t much clarity on the nature or the extent of his injury as of yet, the report claims that Tottenham would refrain from risking him for the game.
Apart from Lo Celso, Erik Lamela is also unlikely to be involved as he recovers from a calf problem. In addition, Japhet Tanganga will also miss out after picking up a shoulder injury in our final UEFA Europa League group game against Royal Antwerp. (h/t Football.london)
Apart from the injured players, Tottenham will also be unable to call upon summer signing Joe Rodon for the game. The Welsh defender featured in the early stages of the competition for former club Swansea City. That means he is now cup-tied.

Having not won in three matches, it goes without saying that a win is a must at bet365 Stadium. Without Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele will need to step up on Wednesday evening.
