Fabrizio Romano provides an update on the future of Sergio Reguilon
Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast (h/t Football.london), reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided an important update on the future of Tottenham Hotspur star Sergio Reguilon.
The 24-year-old Spanish international joined Tottenham from La Liga champions Real Madrid in the summer in a deal worth £28m. Since arriving, Reguilon has grown into a first-team regular at the club, making 15 appearances in all competitions, registering three assists.
While Reguilon has become an important part of Jose Mourinho’s setup, there have been concerns over his future, as it has been claimed that Real Madrid have a buyback clause of worth £43m, which they could trigger in the upcoming summer window. (h/t Football.london)
Furthermore, reports in Spain have claimed that the 24-year-old would be open to returning to the Spanish capital. This has only caused more worry among the Tottenham fans.
However, Romano has delivered a positive update on Reguilon’s situation, stating that the decision to return will totally be upon the player himself and he is currently enjoying his time at Tottenham.
“There are still people who say Real Madrid will buy Reguilon next summer. Finally, the decision is up to the player and he is totally focused on Tottenham. He is so happy with the Tottenham atmosphere. Don’t worry Tottenham fans.”
