Son Heung-min has his say on Tottenham Hotspur’s PL title chances
Speaking to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min has claimed that his team have every chance of winning the Premier League title, provided they do not lose focus.
Tottenham made a fine start to the season and were briefly on the top of the Premier League table earlier this month. However, a run of three games without a win (D1 L2) has seen us slip down to sixth place heading into the Boxing Day matchweek.
Son, though, is positive that his team can scale the mountain and go onto win the title, but urged the importance of staying focused over the course of the season.
“Obviously. Nothing is impossible. At the moment, it looks quite tight. There’s a long way to go. We have to be focussed, we have to be ready, fight every single point. This is our aim, we’ll see.”
Further elaborating on Tottenham’s chances this season, the 28-year-old went on to claim that there are no easy points in the Premier League and stressed that it is still too early in the season to call the title race.
“There are no free points. Every single game, every single week, it’s a hard day. We have been contenders before when Leicester won the title. So, it’s too early to say at the moment. We want to be focussed and try to win every single game.”
As things stand, Jose Mourinho’s side are six points behind league leaders and reigning champions Leicester City. Having not won three games in a row, that includes back to back defeats against Liverpool and Leicester City, it is imperative that we return to winning ways this weekend.
