Jose Mourinho claims Brentford semi-final the biggest game of his Tottenham career
As reported by Sky Sports, Jose Mourinho has claimed that the upcoming game against Brentford is the biggest of his Tottenham Hotspur manager career till date.
Spurs lock horns with the Championship outfit in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night. Having gotten a bye to the fourth round, Mourinho & co. defeated Chelsea on penalties, before getting the better of Stoke City in the quarter-finals.
With the game on Tuesday looming, Mourinho has now claimed that it will be the biggest of his Tottenham career up to this point.
“I think it is my biggest game since coming to Spurs. In the perspective of the club chasing silverware for many years I would say so. The only thing more important than semi-finals is finals.”
Tottenham haven’t won a trophy since 2008. And the Carabao Cup represents the club’s best chance of ending that drought. But, Brentford will be a difficult test, considering that they have eliminated Premier League clubs in the previous four rounds.
Indeed, the Bees knocked out Southampton, West Bromwich Albion, Fulham and most recently, Newcastle United, in the quarter-final.

Heading into the game, there is no better person to be in charge of the team than Mourinho. The Portuguese tactician has won the League Cup multiple times in his managerial career.
It’s not going to be easy, something that Mourinho acknowledged in the interview. If we get past Brentford, either of Manchester United or Manchester City will be waiting for us in the finals.
