Mauricio Pochettino is frustrated with Daniel Levy after the Tottenham Hotspur chief refused to sanction a loan move for Dele Alli to Paris Saint Germain.

Tottenham open to re-signing Christian Eriksen if Dele Alli leaves

According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur could consider re-signing Christian Eriksen from Inter Milan, provided Dele Alli leaves the club this month.

Eriksen left Tottenham in January last year signing for Serie A giants Inter Milan. However, the Danish international has endured a torrid time in Italy. He has struggled to carve out a place in Antonio Conte’s starting XI and the Nerazzurri have confirmed that the midfielder will be sold this month.

Now, it is being claimed that Tottenham are keeping a keen eye on Eriksen’s situation. However, a move to bring back the Dane will only be made if Dele Alli ends up leaving the club this month.

Alli has been with Tottenham since 2015 but has struggled for form and consistency over the past year or so. The midfielder has found himself out of favour under Jose Mourinho, for the most part, this term. This has seen him get heavily linked with an exit in the ongoing transfer window, with PSG said to be interested. (h/t Football.london)

However, the 24-year-old made a huge impression in the 5-0 win over Marine AFC in the FA Cup third-round clash this week. Following that, Mourinho did hint at a bigger role for the England international moving forward. Nevertheless, his future at the club is far from certain and should he move on, Tottenham could turn to Eriksen.

Eriksen did very well for us in the six years that he was at the club. However, the 28-year-old has been on the decline over the past twelve months. Bringing him back at this point of time does not make much sense from the club’s perspective.
