Sam Allardyce wants to bring Tottenham defender Danny Rose to West Brom
Talking on TalkSPORT, transfer expert Alex Crook (h/t BirminghamLive) claimed that West Brom manager Sam Allardyce is interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose.
West Bromwich Albion are struggling this season and their manager wants to bring in Premier League experience in order to avoid the drop. They are 19th in the table with just 8 points from 17 matches so far.
The Baggies have already added Robert Snodgrass and Andy Lonergan in their team in January. And now, they are looking for a possible free transfer for Danny Rose. (h/t BirminghamLive)
This was stated by Crook, who expressed the Birmingham-based club’s interest in the defender.
“We know he’s not part of Jose Mourinho’s plans, West Brom and Sam Allardyce will be very keen to take him to the Hawthorns.”
Not a big blow
The report states that Rose could be released by Tottenham this month. He is not a part of Mourinho’s plans going forward.
This is made evident by the fact that the 30-year-old is yet to play a single minute for the club this season. His appearances have come for the U-23 side.
Rose spent the second half of the 2019/20 season at Newcastle United, where he played 13 times. His last league appearance for Spurs came all the way back in January 2020.
Since then, manager Jose Mourinho has signed Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguillon. The Spaniard has made the left-back position his own and has played in 12 of Spurs’ last 14 league games.

If the Lilywhites do end up releasing Rose from his contract this month, it would not be the biggest blow, at least on paper. Apart from Reguilon, Spurs have Ben Davies as well as Matt Doherty, who can play on both wings.
