Tottenham starlet Harvey White joins Portsmouth on loan
Promising Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harvey White has sealed a loan move to EFL League One outfit Portsmouth for the rest of the season, the club has confirmed.
A product of the Tottenham Hotspur youth academy, the 19-year-old White has been tipped for a bright future by manager Jose Mourinho. The teenage midfielder broke into the senior team last season, making a few appearances on the bench.
However, the youngster made his debut earlier this season in a UEFA Europa League game, coming on as a substitute against Ludogorets. He has since added another appearance for the club, playing the entire game against Marine AFC in the FA Cup third round earlier this month.
A regular for the club’s U23 side, White has made 11 appearances in the Premier League 2 this term. The midfielder has chipped with an impressive tally of three goals and seven assists in the process.
A talented, young midfielder White has now joined Portsmouth till the end of the season. The 19-year-old becomes the first signing of the mid-season training period at Fratton Park. Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett was very pleased with the completion of the deal.
“I am very pleased. He strengthens our midfield, he also compliments it as well. He’s a very good footballer who has an excellent left foot and he will complement the midfield players we have at the club.
“A player that we have seen and we have rated for a while and at 19, we are pleased that although it is his first loan, we are pleased that he is joining us and wants to come here as we work towards trying to get promoted.
