Jose Mourinho stance on the pursuit of Real Madrid star Eder Militao revealed
Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast (h/t Express), reliable journalist and transfer expert Duncan Castles has claimed that Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is unlikely to pursue a move for Real Madrid star Eder Militao.
The Brazilian international has been with Real Madrid since the summer of 2019, having signed from Portuguese outfit FC Porto. However, the centre-back has struggled to carve out a place for himself in the starting XI under Zinedine Zidane.
Having spent most of the season out on the bench, Militao has heavily been linked with an exit this month, with Tottenham touted to be interested in signing the centre-back. (h/t Express)
Castles, however, has dismissed such speculations, insisting that Mourinho does not see the qualities that he desires in a centre-back in the Real Madrid outcast.
“Mourinho, I understand, does not feel that Militao fits the profile of player that Tottenham need, i.e. he doesn’t see him as the player who would come in and overhaul the defence, be a leader in the defence, and take the team onto a different level.
“So then, if that deal were to be done by the club, I think it would be very much a compromise rather than the ideal scenario for Tottenham. Therefore I think you can regard this as pretty unlikely to happen in this window.”

Eder showed a lot of promise during his time at Porto. However, the fact that he has hardly played since moving to Real Madrid did raise questions about his ability to make it at the highest level. And, it seems like Mourinho, too, shares a similar outlook on the defender and will not pursue a move this month.
