Manchester United make a loan offer for Tottenham target Christian Eriksen
Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast (h/t Express), transfer expert Ian McGarry has claimed that Manchester United have made a loan offer for Inter Milan star Christian Eriksen, who is linked with Tottenham.
Eriksen spent close to seven years with Tottenham before calling time on his stint in January last year. The Danish playmaker secured a move to Italian giants Inter Milan. However, his time in Milan hasn’t gone as per plans, as he has struggled to establish himself as a regular in Antonio Conte’s men.
Just a year after his transfer to the Serie A giants, Eriksen is once again on the lookout for a new club. And, it has been claimed that Tottenham are working to facilitate a return to the club for the former AFC Ajax man. (h/t Express)
However, McGarry has now revealed that Manchester United are trying to hijack the move and have made a loan offer for the 28-year-old midfielder.
“It is while our understanding, while he has been linked heavily with a return to Tottenham Hotspur, he has in fact been offered to Manchester United. It would be a loan deal until the end of the season with no option to buy as far as it goes at the moment.
“The deal is far from being done, mostly because Manchester United have not offered to pay a sufficient part of his ways. He is on €8m net per year, meaning €4m for the remainder of this season. United have offered around €1.5m with Inter paying the rest.”

Fabrizio Romano, however, has insisted that Eriksen has his heart set on a return to Tottenham. However, Inter Milan are demanding a loan fee from to Tottenham to complete the move, while his wages are also proving to be a complication.
It remains to be seen whether Eriksen ends up securing a return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this month.
