Dani Ceballos has his say on Gareth Bale situation at Tottenham Hotspur

In an interview with EFE (h/t Mirror), Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale could be having troubles to adapt to the physical demands of the Premier League, leading to his struggles.

Bale returned to Tottenham Hotspur for a second stint this past summer. The Welsh wing wizard arrived on loan from Real Madrid, much like Dani Ceballos moved to Arsenal on a season-long temporary deal from the La Liga champions.

However, the 31-year-old has struggled for form and fitness since arriving at Tottenham. The Welshman has spent more time on the treatment tables and on the bench than on the pitch this season. And, Arsenal star Ceballos has claimed that the physical nature of the Premier League is posing a challenge for Bale in his second stint at the club.

“When Bale was here seven years ago the league was completely different. Thomas Partey & Fabinho for instance, they knew the Premier League was a very physical league, but when you start to play you realize its twice as physical. It is difficult to adapt quickly. Maybe that’s what’s happening to Gareth.”

Bale has featured just 12 times across all competitions, scoring three goals in the process. (h/t Transfermarkt)

It was never going to be easy for Bale to reach the same heights as he did in the first stint with us. More so, considering that he was hardly used by Zinedine Zidane over the past season at Madrid.

However, it is important that the Welshman start to pull his weight in the second half of the season if we are to taste success.
