Tottenham interest in Nikola Milenkovic confirmed by Fabrizio Romano
Speaking on the We are Tottenham TV (h/t Football.london), reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.
The 23-year-old Serbian centre-back has grown into one of the most reliable young defenders in Italy since joining the club in 2017. However, his contract expires in the summer of 2022 and he is not keen on signing a new contract.
This had led to speculations that Tottenham Hotspur are considering making a move for Milenkovic. And, Romano has claimed that it is indeed true that Spurs are interested in the Serb. However, he also added that he is not at the top of the club’s wishlist.
“Milenkovic is an interesting situation because his contract expires in two years. At the moment he doesn’t want to extend his contract and Fiorentina knows that he wants to move. Let’s see if Tottenham will go for him or not, but for sure he’s appreciated. At the moment he’s not the first choice, but he is appreciated.”
Romano, while speaking, also added that LOSC Lille’s Sven Botman was another defender that Tottenham are keeping a close watch on.
“Also they have some rumours about Botman, so I think in the coming months will see. But at the moment these two names are interesting Tottenham for sure.”

Milenkovic, since joining Fiorentina in 2017, has racked up 116 appearances, 20 of which have come in the ongoing season. A towering presence at the back, the 23-year-old can also play at right-back. He has garnered quite a bit of experience at the top level and would be available on a bargain price this summer.
Someone worth looking at surely, for Tottenham.
