Dele Alli wants to move to PSG but Tottenham do not want to lose him on a permanent transfer
A report by 90min (h/t Daily Mail) states that Dele Alli has personally asked Tottenham Hotspur to let him join PSG by the end of the January transfer window.
Alli has fallen out of favour at Spurs in recent years and has been linked with a move to PSG since the start of the season. The Englishman has just 4 appearances in the league this season.
Moreover, he has also started just two games in Europe for Spurs since the start of the campaign. Mourinho has found a stable midfield trio of Moussa Sissoko, Tanguy Ndombele, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Up front, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane start for Spurs, usually down the middle. This has left Alli without a spot in the starting XI.
And now, PSG want to sign him on a loan until the end of the season. Mauricio Pochettino, PSG’s current manager, was the man in charge of Tottenham when Dele Alli broke through into the first-team.
A standstill
The French club wants to sign him on a loan until the end of this campaign. And they want an option to buy the 24-year-old at the end of it.
This is something that Spurs are against, as they do not want to lose the player permanently in the summer. (h/t Daily Mail)
Mourinho apparently has the former MK Dons midfielder in his future plans. Alli is just 24 years old and is by no means past his physical prime.

He still has a lot of footballing years in him and it is understandable why the club would want to keep him for the coming seasons.
Another factor that could stall the deal is Giovani Lo Celso’s injury, with the club cautious about losing Alli during the Argentine’s absence. (h/t Daily Mail)
