Dele Alli could miss Wycombe FA Cup clash with injury, Mourinho claims
According to Sky Sports, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that midfielder Dele Alli is a doubt for the FA Cup clash against Wycombe Wanderers due to an injury.
Tottenham qualified for the fourth round of the FA Cup courtesy a 5-0 win over Marine AFC earlier this month. And Alli, who hasn’t been a regular under Mourinho this season, had played a key role in the win against the lower division outfit.
Having helped set up a meeting with Wycombe in the fourth round, the 24-year-old is now a major doubt for the game on Monday night. Alli is currently recovering from an injury which could keep him out of the contest at Adams Park in a couple of days, Mourinho has revealed.
“Dele Alli hasn’t been training in the last couple of days. [He’s got] a small problem in the tendon but I’m not sure that he can [play against Wycombe]. Out, out? I can’t say in this moment, three days before the match.”
Mourinho went on to confirm that this injury was the reason behind Alli’s omission from the matchday squad for our Premier League game against Sheffield United at the weekend. However, the Portuguese added that it was not an issue that would keep the Englishman sidelined for a prolonged period.
“It’s not the kind of injury that will keep him out for weeks and weeks like Gio [Lo Celso], but it’s an injury that doesn’t allow him to train fully with the team. That’s what’s happened in the last couple of days, there’s been no chance for him to train so that’s the situation for now.”

Alli has struggled for game-time this season and has been heavily linked with a move to PSG in the ongoing transfer window. It remains to be seen if he stays at the club beyond the next week. For now, though, he is a major doubt for the game against Wycombe.
