Dele Alli to PSG inches closer, but Tottenham waiting on replacement
According to reputed journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, PSG and Tottenham Hotspur are in advanced talks over a loan move for midfielder Dele Alli, with a deal ‘almost ready’. However, Spurs are refusing to let him leave until a replacement is secured.
The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to PSG since summer, with the Parisian outfit having three loan bids rejected. However, they have not given up on their pursuit of the England international and are once again pushing to sign Alli. (h/t The Athletic)
The former MK Dons midfielder is himself said to keen on a move away from Tottenham this month while manager Jose Mourinho is also open to letting him leave on loan. However, chairman Daniel Levy was believed to be undecided over the situation, as per The Athletic.
However, according to the latest update from Romano, the two clubs are in ‘advanced talks’ over the potential loan exit, with a deal close to being completed. It will be a plain loan deal with no option to make the transfer permanent.
But, Tottenham are holding out on sanctioning a departure for the midfielder until a replacement for Alli is secured.
PSG are pushing to sign Dele Alli and the player wants to go, as reported two weeks ago.
