Jose Mourinho delivers injury update ahead of Tottenham vs Liverpool

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League game against Liverpool (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has delivered an injury update on his squad.

Tottenham head into the game on the back of a comeback 4-1 win over EFL Championship side Wycombe Wanderers in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Monday night.

Tottenham were without Matt Doherty for the game due to injury. Ben Davies, who started at Adams Park, had to be withdrawn late in the contest due to a knock he picked up.

Mourinho was quizzed about their availability when Liverpool come visiting on Thursday night. And the Portuguese confirmed revealed Doherty and Davies could be available. However, he was cryptic over the update, claiming that there were more injury problems that he wasn’t prepared to reveal.

“Yeah, and we have more problems than that what I’m not going to share. You have to wait for tomorrow but we have a little bit of more problems than that.”

Another player who has missed the last two matches due to injury is Dele Alli. The 24-year-old’s future remains uncertain, but Mourinho claimed that he expects Alli to stay at the club. At the same time, he also revealed that the midfielder will not be involved against Liverpool.

“I expect (him to be here) and I am saying that since the beginning of the window. No. He is injured.”

A win against Liverpool on Thursday should help us break into the top four. The Reds haven’t won in the league since mid-December and are definitely there for the taking. Hopefully, Mourinho & co. make the most of their vulnerability and bag all three points.
